Matt Spooner
Matt is a structural engineer with 11 years’ experience at Novare Design. He has worked on a wide variety of infrastructure and building projects throughout New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific, with an emphasis on bridges and other civil infrastructure including temporary works. He currently holds a senior position within the Wellington design office.
Matt’s knowledge base and ability to analyse and interpret complex structures and problems has led to him becoming a sought-after project team member by a variety of Clients. He is well regarded within the construction industry for solving constructability issues and giving pragmatic advice. He has an interest in sustainability and has contributed to projects which have received Concrete3 Sustainability Awards in 2016 and 2018.
In addition to his role at Novare, Matt is also active with industry bodies including Engineering New Zealand, having previously served as a branch committee member for the Engenerate Young Professionals, and for last five years with ACE New Zealand as an awards judge.
