Ian MacDonald
Ian is a chartered professional structural engineer, with over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry. Featuring approximately 12 years of consultancy experience in New Zealand with analysis, design, seismic retrofit and construction monitoring of industrial and residential building structures, interior fitouts, water retaining structures and wind turbine foundations.
Ian has a unique combination of skills which add value to the overall problem-solving process, previously a Technical Consultant specialising in advanced structural analysis for CSC which is now part of Tekla. As well as consultancy experience in the UK, earlier roles also Include project engineering where he was responsible for the setout of in-situ reinforced concrete bases for crushers and conveyor trestles, concrete culvert, retaining walls, roads and blockwork buildings which included cable ducts to the national grid where accuracy in position on a large scale was paramount. Ian also started out in the construction industry as a Carpenter adding practical value to his role.
